For the ‘200 years of Tax Authority, from Gogel to Zalm’ exhibition at the Tax and Customs Museum in Rotterdam, we created the figure of the first Minister of Finance, Alexander Gogel. Our task was to bring Alexander Gogel to life as realistically as possible. Based on a photograph of a painting as well as some detailed photographs of his clothing, we made an exact copy of Gogel’s head and then designed a perfectly fitting costume with full embroidery. The result was a wonderfully realistic mannequin.
